Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and how you can ask for access or deletion. Written for Canadian operations. Not a substitute for legal advice.
This page describes how BC Signal intends to operate. It has not yet received professional legal review and is not a guarantee of compliance with PIPEDA, CASL, or any other statute. Last updated 2026-09-10.
Who we are
BC Signal (https://bcsignal.com) is a revenue systems company based in British Columbia, Canada. For privacy requests write to privacy@bcsignal.com.
What we collect
When you complete a form, book a call, or take the Signal Score, we may store:
- Name, email, phone, company, industry, and the message you send
- Signal Score answers, the resulting score, and a report token
- Attribution fields you already made available in the URL: UTM parameters, click IDs, landing page, and referring site
- Consent records: what you agreed to, the policy version, timestamp, and the form that captured it
- A first-party visitor identifier stored in localStorage. It is a random UUID, not a device fingerprint
Server logs may retain an IP address for a short period where it is needed for abuse prevention. We do not use it for advertising profiles.
Why we collect it
- To reply to a request you made
- To produce and email a Signal Score report
- To book and follow up on a strategy call
- To measure which pages and campaigns produce qualified conversations
- To send marketing email only when you have opted in
Consent and electronic messages
Submitting a form is a request for a reply about that request. Marketing email is optional and recorded separately. You can unsubscribe from marketing in one click. Transactional messages about a report or a booked call are not marketing.
We designed the product to keep a history of consent (type, source, policy version, time). That is infrastructure, not a claim that the application is legally certified.
Who we share with
We do not sell personal information. We may send data to processors that help us operate: hosting, email delivery, analytics, a CRM, and a scheduling provider. Those processors only receive what they need to do that job. Current processor status is documented in our contact channels and in the project integrations record.
Retention
Lead, consent and Signal Score records are kept for as long as we need them to deliver the service, defend a legitimate business interest, or meet a legal obligation. When you ask us to delete, we delete or anonymise what we can without breaking a record we are required to keep.
Access and deletion
Email privacy@bcsignal.com from the address you used on the form. Ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies and analytics
First-party attribution uses localStorage and sessionStorage, not a cookie on every request. If Google Analytics is configured, it may set its own cookies. You can clear first-party attribution from the browser storage for this site at any time.
Children
This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
When this policy changes in a way that affects consent, we bump the policy version recorded on new submissions. Existing records keep the version they were captured under.
